ABOUT ALEXANDRIA

 

My name is Alexandria (Alex), and I have been sewing since I was in junior high school. That is when I really found an enjoyment in creating garments and household items. As I excelled through school, I really found a passion for clothing design. I love almost every aspect of the design process. I love that every day is different and there is a new design issue to tackle. I am a hands-on learner and very detail oriented. Some have called me a perfectionist, but I take great pride in my work.

My life went into transition when I decided to join the Army. At the time, I wanted to branch out, learn something new, and develop my leadership skills. During my time with the Army, I found that I love learning new things, but I missed designing and sewing. Now that my army career is coming to an end, I am working toward getting back into the creative field of clothing design. With the little free time that I have, I have helped my co-workers in sewing their name tapes and rank to their uniforms. I also have been working on redesigning the army maternity uniform, since I found a need with the personnel around me. I did not realize how much creativity was missing from my life, until the army, so I am grateful for that. I’m just happy to be getting back into what I love.
